Only because you have been able to build your house on a rock doesn’t give you a slowdown to abuse the ones that are facing the storm. Just because you have kept your house in order does not give you the strength to ridicule, to mock or to criticize one that has not reached the atmost tranquillity yet.
Success and failure have equal measures depending on the performance of the actor. Everyone has their own level of achievement to reach. Every stone rolls according to the force it was pushed with.
Not every sunrise and sunset is the same and if they are, they don’t take place at the same time daily. Everyone who by chance understands the flow of life should make the point marking and creating an impact on someone that doesn’t.
Instead of mock and ridicule, it is wise to strengthen and encourage.
Instead of competing and failing it is better to work together and achieve the great.
Instead of staying ignorant because of the little you have, it is better to seek for more knowledge.
Instead of talking or speaking to hurt someone, it is better to keep silent and maintain the tranquillity.
Actions and words wrap each other while faith and hope compel each other.
Silence is the best cooler to the war of words; silence also is the herb to a rising war.
For a man to become what he wants to become, he must do what he has to do and act the way he has to act.
I am not used to eavesdropping, neither do I gossip but the residential apartment in which I stay has offered an opportunity to listen what my neighbor does and they also do the same to what I do. I am not married, I spent most of my time at work and after work I take rests in my small cube.
After being neighbors with them for the better half of the year, I have gained a whole lot of lessons from this young and under aged couple. Despite everyone’s wish to plan their life this early, this young couple were blessed with love for each other but the plans of their lives even raises more worry for themselves.
The husband whom according to my conversations with him revealed that he is younger than me works in the nearby sand collecting yard which pays him a token of 300/- each day. This is the same amount he uses to pay for bills and also to carter for the baby that brought them together.
From work, the husband who we now call Noah passes through a club where he spends half of the money on drugs and takes the rest to the wife for the house budget. Drank Noah came home as late as 8pm yester night and instructed the wife to go and buy supper for them.
The wife with a lot of innocence handed the baby to the father in order for her to be swift in preparing supper for the little family but Noah never wants to touch the baby of course in such moments when he is having the best time of his life in his brains.
Through the walls, I could hear her proposing to him to at least handle the baby as she heads to the market. ‘Mtoto mimi siwezi shika, muweke kwa kitanda uende urudi utampata tu, hajaanza kutembea kwani ataenda wapi,’ he replies as he turns one bucket upside down in order to have a seat. The wife puts the baby on the bed and when she reaches the door, it begins to cry. She feels it but she can’t get back to the house because she has no one to send to the shop.
Noah, upon irritation from the baby’s cry decides to get out and light a cigarette why murmuring. The little angel cries out with much loneliness but the big boss couldn’t just pick it up. When the mother gets back, the baby is still crying so she changes the responsibility to calming it down.
As she cooks, a conversation begins between them and the wife accuses him of not putting enough efforts in changing their livelihood, she bitterly says that if he can’t work hard to change their lives, they will surely suffer. He does not respond to her all this long, all he does is listen to his wife who solely depends on him to provide for the family. The wife’s tone rises and catches the husband’s attention; he gets up and declares that he will not eat the food if it is a matter of ramping each other.
Since he went out last night, I have seen him returning this morning to take a bath and left again for work.
If all you know about Rasta is that they smoke joints and grow dreadlocks, we are here to set the record straight. Sure Rasta do have dreads and they do smoke marijuana, but it’s so much deeper than that. Here are facts you might not know about the movement that developed in Jamaica in the 1930s, and has since spread its message across the globe.
1.Dreadlocks are not just for style._
According to Old Testament scripture ( Leviticus 19:27 ), Rastas believe one should not cut their hair because it is where their strength lies. Dreadlocks form naturally over time.
2. Rasta smoke marijuana to increase spiritual awareness.
Rasta do not consider marijuana a drug. Instead, it is a medium that is used to open their mind and increase their spiritual awareness. Smoking marijuana is considered a religious ritual.
3. No, Bob Marley did not start the Rastafari movement._
While we might associate Mr. Marley with the movement, he didn’t actually start it! However, there is no denying that the insane popularity of his music helped spread the Rastafari way of life.
4. Rastafari has its roots in the philosophy of Marcus Garvey.
Marcus Garvey, born in Jamaica in 1887, was a political activist and supporter of black self-empowerment. Many Rastafari consider Garvey to be a prophet, similar to John the Baptist’s role in Christianity. In his teachings, he urged those of the African diaspora to not only return to Africa, but to also “look to Africa, when a black king shall be crowned.” That prophecy was realized with the crowning of the last Emperor of Ethiopia.
5. Another crucial name to know: Haile Selassie
Followers of Marcus Garvey’s teachings came together to form a religion in 1930, when Haile Selassie I became the Emperor of Ethiopia. Rastafarians consider the Emperor their messiah, naming the movement after his birth name, Ras Tafari Makonnen. On April 21, 1966, Haile Selassie I visited Jamaica for the first (and only) time. The day is now considered holy, known as coronation Day.
6. Rasta are not just in Jamaica._
There are approximately one million followers of the Rastafari movement worldwide. Thanks to music (and the Internet), the message of Rastafari has touched people everywhere.
7. Rasta are super healthy!_
Generally, Rasta are pretty health conscious. They consider their body to be a temple, based on the Old Testament teachings. Rasta do not drink alcohol or eat food that is not nourishing to their body, which includes meat. Many follow a strict dietary law called ital, which states that all food must be completely natural and raw.
8. Rasta believe Africa is paradise on earth.
Rasta see Africa as a paradise on earth, and at the core of the movement is the belief that all people of the African diaspora should return to their homeland. Many Rastafaris hope to return to Africa during their lifetime.
9. That’s gold the Rastafarian flag, not yellow!_
A common misconception of the Rastafari flag is that its colors are red, green, black and yellow. However, the Rastafari colors are red, green, black and gold—and they were all chosen for a specific purpose. Gold (not yellow!) symbolizes the wealth of Ethiopia. If you want to know what the other colors signify.
10. This is not everything you need to know about the Rastafari movement.
We could never cover the entirety of the Rastafari movement in post. There’s lots more to know. “Rastafarians: The Dreadlocks of Jamaica ” by Leonard E. Barrett is a great place to begin your education.
I am at the fore front of a war. I am the determinant of the success and failure or downfall of this long fight. I am the one to decide whatever that has to take place in this tussle. My voice is in the forefront to take control of this battle field. I am the commander in this bloody push and pull.
In this war, I am learning to be the maker and chooser of my own attitudes at all time. A fellow soldier once uttered words of greatness that fell upon good ears, he said, ” Your attitude determines your altitude.” As straight and simple as his words were, I could easily depict the meaning that lies both within and outside them.
It is easy to predict the levels we can go without our greatest attitudes, but the same cliché guides us towards choosing what attitude can guide us best in this war. Your attitude determines your soaring levels. Your attitudes determine the level you fall all the time. Attitude determines the manner in which you handle different situations in your life.
By developing a suitable attitude for your flow of life, you will begin experiencing the need to soar high and high. Being hard on yourself is more satisfying and promising than being more careless and ungrateful. Attitude adjustment is the best herb to the personal discomfort that you may be facing. Conform your attitude towards your target and it will go well.
The whole idea about life seems like an unsolved puzzle. Many people come up with their different suggestions on how we should handle our lives. Many give solutions that do not really apply in our lives. We also give solutions to others, solutions that do not really apply in their lives. That is how life is it is about trying and correcting mistakes in order to reach a perfect or admirably imperfect state.
Maybe life is not about minding how others live but how we live ourselves. It is not hard to predict when one will die, after all we have a period less than a century to enjoy this privilege of existence. Without understanding this privilege, it is so hard for one to appreciate the gift itself.
It is not doubted any more, it is clear that no one is coming out of this world alive so the mark you leave behind is what matters a lot. The type of life you live when you are still navigating in this free oxygen is the one that determines your remembrance, your memories and greatest of all, the impact you make on this world.
It is better to live in this world with the knowledge above, this will keep you on toes on matters that develop your well-being rather than keeping you closer to destruction. All words written about how life should be lived are true but the level of devotion to the expansion of your live purposes is what matters. You are the master of your fate and captain of your destiny.
You want to make a step in your life but something is pulling you back. This something is eating you from the inside and constantly derailing your ability to keep your life in order.
You have made all the necessary and enough efforts in order to get rid of this thing but still the rock doesn’t move an inch. This something hindered you from making proper decisions the other day, it made you perform poorly the other day. This something has tied you up that you can’t do something out of your own will. This something is FEAR. It is time you face it by the horns.
Wrap this disaster and suffocate it with massive personal care and focus. The best way to deal with fear is by confronting it. Prove to yourself that you can live without fear. It is only by confronting our fears and defeating them that we make a step in our lives.
